Albani Mathaeus copy- the Tyrolean from the 17th/18th centuries - similar style to Amati, Mathaeus' work shows precision and neatness in his subtle proportions and varnish. Born in St Nikliaus, a village on the shore of the Kaltern lake in 1621, moved to Borlzano where the tone wood for violins was plentiful. He also traveled to Rome and Cremona Italy. This Mathaeus copy is in our violin vault.
