Teacher of the Month - Alex Brinkman

Alex Brinkman enjoys a multi-dimensional musical career that ranges from classical cello performance to electronic music composition and production in Denver. Alex studied at Illinois State University where he received a Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance and Music Education.  Alex went on to teach many orchestras in Illinois. In 2015 he was the recipient of the Leonard Rose Memorial Scholar Award and studied at the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy on full scholarship. He has participated in masterclasses with Zuill Bailey, Mike Block, Anthony Arnone, Joseph Johnson. He has collaborated with jazz label International Anthem and with visual artists from Star Trek Picard. Alex has performed as Principal Cello with the Lakeview Orchestra. He is currently in the process of releasing commercial music with Sony/EMI as well as his debut Hip Hop/Neo Soul EP titled “Catching Feelings.” Alex has a prolific YouTube channel that he posts on regularly covering a variety of modern tunes as well as performances of classical standards. Alex has also released a new album for yoga called “Breathe.”
